And whereas there was a Bill produced for a Mare & her encrease,
to bee deliuered in Aprill 1657, It is Ordered th^t an Attatchm^t issue
out in the names of M^r Thomas Mathews, & M^r Henry Adams
Trustees for M^r Nicholas Cawsines' children, agst the Estate of Cap^t
Will^m Mitchell, Ret next Prouinciall Court.

Coursey v.
Land

To the hon^ble the Gou^e & Councell for the Prouince of Maryland
The humble Petⁿ of Henry Coursey Humbly Sheweth That M^r
Philip Land of S^t Maries County sold yo^r Pet^r a Cow & a steere
calfe, the 18^th day of Aprill 1654. And yo^e Pet^r goeing for England
in the yeare 1655 did impower my Brothers, to aske, demand &
receiue the s^d Cow from the s^d Land, w^h all her encrease; w^ch hee
refused to deliuer, hauing then or presently after killed the s^d Cow
& her calfe, as yo^r Pet^r hath bene informed, Not thinking euer yo^r
Pet^r would returne againe for this Country.
Yo^e Pet^r therfore humbly prays th^t hee may haue order for a Cow
& a steere of the age responsable to the aboues^d Calfe, & all future
encrease likely to ensue from the s^d Cow w^th Costs of Suite, And yo^r
Pet^r as in duly bownd shall eu^e pray &c :
Know all men by these p^ents, th^t I Richard Harrise of Patux^t
Plant^r, for a ualuable Consideraon by me receaued, doe bargaine &
sell unto John Reade of the same place Plant^r one Cow Cropd' on
both eares, w^th two slitts in each Crop, her colour is Browne, w^th a
Steere calfe browne. Marked slitt in the left eare, & under keeled on
the right, To haue & to hold the same cattle, to him the s^d Reade, or
his assignes for euer, & I the s^d Harrise doe for mee my heyres &
assignes warrant to saue harmelesse the s^d Read, & his assignes
from any molestaon of any person or persons whatsoeu^e Clayming
from or under mee or my assignes, In wittnes whereof I haue sett
my hand this 20^th March 1653
