7. You shall not Suffer takers up of Lands, to String the same, but
oblige them to make their Surveys as little Indented as possible.
8. You are to Return yearly to the Keeper or Keepers of the Rent-
Rolls for the time being, an Abstract of all the Lands upon common
warrants held by Certificates upon Record, & also what certificates
are Recorded upon Warrants of Resurvey & in the abstract of such
to mention the names of the original Tracts included in such Resur-
vey, & if any Certificates are Recorded upon warrants of Escheat,
you are likewise to set down in the Abstracts of them the name of the
Original Tracts so become Escheat.
9. You as Secretary shall take care to give the Clerks of the
Countys Directions to be very exact in Transmitting to our Agent the
Alienations every year,
10. Whereas we have condescended tht those persons who are
Intituled to any Lands within our Manner of Severn River in Ann-
Arundel County by any former Survey or patent should have original
patents, or patents of confirmation for the same. Therefore our will
& pleasure is that proper Patents Issue to such persons who shall apply
for the same within the space of one year next ensuing under the
same Annual Rent for every 100 acres wch was payable for Lands at
the time of the original Survey of such Lands provided That no
patent to be granted by virtue of this our Instruction shall contain
or Include more Land than the Express number of acres mention'd
in the Original Survey or patent wch sd number of Acres shall be
included within Bounds to be ascertained by a Resurvey if necessary
of such Lands prior to the patent hereby Directed to be granted.

11. There shall be in all future common Warrants a Clause In-
serted by Provisoe That the Patent shall be taken out within the
space of Two years after the date of such warrant & which sd Clause
you are hereby Injoyn'd so strictly to observe as not to suffer any
renewal of the sd warrants after such time or any patent to Issue con-
trary to the true Intent & meaning thereof.
12. As soon as notice shall be given unto you that there is Sur-
plusage contain'd in any former or future Surveys for -which the
owners of such Surveys have not made the proper application
pursuant to our proclamation dated the 14thof June 1733 You shall
Inform our Attorney General thereof in order that he may proceed
to make void the patent and upon a Judgement or Decree for Vacating
the same you are hereby Directed upon Application in behalf of such
patentee to grant a Warrant to Resurvey so many acres of the sd
Land as were mention'd in the sd patent so vacated & to Issue a patent
for the same to the person who was Intituled to the sd first patent &
you are to grant the Surplusage to any other person than the Owner
applying for the same under the conditions & Terms of four shilings
Sterling Rent & the other conditions establish'd by these Instructions
& upon the payment or Securing of, such caution-mony as to our
Chancellor & Agent shall seem proper
