Rivers (which are very numerous) in Maryland your Lordship
being no stranger to the fact, and well knowing that there is nothing
wanting but proper Salt and Skill in Curing and managing Fish to
make very great Quantities of it fit for any foreign Market, and
as we are confident that your Lordship has very sincerely at heart
and will embrace every Opportunity to procure the Welfare and
Prosperity of Your Tenants so we beg Leave to entreat your In-
terest and Assistance in obtaining for us the same favour and In-
dulgence concerning Salt which Our fellow Subjects of the Neigh-
bouring Colonies already mentioned now enjoy

George Plater Esqr from the Committee to inspect the Proceed-
ings of the Comm" of the .Paper Currency makes the following
Report
At a Committee of both Houses appointed to inspect the Office
and Proceedings of the Commrs for emitting the Paper Money in
Maryland
Present

Who make Choice of George Plater Esqr Chairman & Mr William
Rogers Clerk
Your Committee having in the most careful Manner inspected
the State of the Office for emitting the Paper Money & the Ac-
counts of the Commrs or Trustees, find both in good Order, and
that nothing appears to the Contrary, but the said Commrs have
faithfully discharged the Trust reposed in them
They further find that there has been lately remitted from Eng-
land several Books of blank Bills, in Order to renew and make good
the torn and defaced Bills, which Books appear to be perfect but are
not yet examined by the Commrs, and are said to amount three
thousand four hundred thirty seven pounds ten shillings
They likewise find it necessary for the Ease & dispatch of Com-
mittees hereafter to be appointed for this Purpose as well as the
