Read the second time the Bill Entituled an Act to alter the times
of holding the Assizes and Provincial Court and to appoint the said
Courts to be held at the times therein mentioned and will not pass &
sent by Edmund Jenings Esqr
A Message from the Lower house by Mrs. Hooper & Hawkins

By the Lower house of Assembly i May 1736
May it please your Honours
This House is willing to propose the raising a sum of four thou-
sand pounds sterling p Annum to the Lord Proprietary in Lieu of
his Quit Rents and Alienation fines and desire to know if your House
will agree in such a Proposal

This house is so well pleased with your Sense of the Integrity and
Abilities of the Chief Justice of the Provincial Court in the Execu-
tion of his Duty in that Station, that we do not only readily concurr
with Your Message by Mrs Hooper & Stoughton but would as
readily have come into the Allowance of a greater Sum for that
Purpose
