Other Slaves &ca the Question was put, whether the Tryal of Ne-
groes be by a Jury or in a Summary manner Resolved it be by a Jury.
Coll. Gale, Coll King Coll Hooper, Mr Hammond, Mr R. Francis
and Mr Stoughton Appointed to Join the Conferees Appointed
by the Upper House for Advancing the Credit of the Paper Cur-
rency.

Sent to the Upper House by Col Hooper and Mr Francis
A Bill Relating to the placeing and building a prison in Somerset
County.
Read the first and second time by Especial Order, Passed and
Sent to the Upper House by Coll Gale and Coll Dashiels.
A Bill for the further Assessment of so much money on the Tax-
able Inhabitants In St Mary's and Charles Countys, as will Build
a new Church in that part of the Parish which lies in St Marys
County and for the repairing of new Port Church In the same
Parish, and to Appoint a Time for the freeholders, to meet in order
to Chuse a place to Build the said Church Upon. Read the first
time and ordered to Lye on the Table
The House Adjourns Untill to Morrow morning at Nine of the
Clock.

of Bargain and Sale made and Executed by Michl Curtis and Sarah
his wife late of St Marys County Deceased unto Charles Carroll
Esqr late of the City of Annapolis Deceased, Read the first time
and ordered to Lye on the Table.

Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shore send for what
Books or paper, may be Wanting for the Use of the Publick.
Edmund Jenings Esqr from the Upper House Delivers Mr Speaker
the Bill Entituled an Act; Relating to the Placeing and Building a
prison In Somerset County. Indorsed by the Upper House read the
second time and passed which Bill here passed for Ingrossing
The Bill Entituled an Act for the further Assessment of So much
money on the Taxable Inhabitants of King and Queen Parish in St
Marys County &ca
Read the Second time, passed and Sent to the Upper House by Mr
Key and Mr Read.
George Plater Esqr from the Upper House Delivers Mr Speaker
The Bill Entituled a Supplementary Act to the Act for the En-
couragement of Adventurers in Iron Works, Indorsed. Read by
the Upper House the Second time and with following Amendments
