The House met according to Adjournment and all present Except
Mr Hammond.
The Bill Entituled an Act Reviving and Continuing an Act
of Assembly of this Province Entituled an Act for the Better Re-
lief of poore Debtors Read the Second Time, passed and Sent to the
Upper House by Col King and Mr Denton.
The Bill Entituled an Act, Reviving and Continueing an Act of
Assembly of this Province Entituled an Act, to prevent Cutting up
Tobacco plants &c. Read the Second time, passed, and Sent to the
Upper House by Col Ward and Mr Hall.
The Bill Entituled an Act reviving and Continueing an Act of
Assembly Entituled an Act, for the speedy recovery of Small Debts
&c. read second time past and Sent to the Upper House by Mr
Mathews and Mr Stoughton.
The Bill Entituled an Act for the Building a Court House and
Repository for the Records in Leonard Town in St Marys County
Read the Second time passed and Sent to the Upper House by Mr
Reed and Mr Jordan
The Bill Entituled an Act for the further restraining the Evil
and Fraudulent Practice of Sheriffs Read the Second time and Com-
mitted for Amendments
The Bill Entituled an Act, to Continue An Act Entituled an Act
for raiseing a Duty of three pence p hogshead on all Tobacco Ex-
ported out of this Province for the uses therein mentioned Read
the first and Second time by Especial Order, passed and Sent to the
Upper House by Mr Dulany and five more.
A Supplementary Act to the Act, Entituled an Act for the more
Effectual Punishment of Negroes and Other Slaves and for takeing
