A Sufficient Number of Members to Compose a Lower House of
Assembly, met at the Stadt House.
Col Mackall and Col Belt were sent to Acquaint his Excellency
the Governour Therewith, they Return and Acquaint Mr Speaker,
they Delivered their Message.
Col Ward from the Upper House Acquaints Mr Speaker, the
Governour Requires the Attendance of this House in the Council
Chamber, Immediately, Mr Speaker and the Rest of the Members of
this House went to the Upper House. His Excellency Made the fol-
lowing Speech. (Seepage 313.)

Mr Speaker and the rest of the Members of this House Returned.
Mr Speaker Reasumed the Chair.
The Committee of Laws ordered to prepare an Address to his
Excellency, on his Speech.
Mr Warfeild ordered to Acquaint Mr Humphreys, this House
Desires him to Read Divine Service at half an Hour past Seven in
the forenoon and at five of the Clock in the Afternoon, he Returns
and Acquaints Mr Speaker he Delivered his Message.
Mr Jam8 Waughop a returned Member, to serve for St Marys
County, In the Room of Mr Thomas Waughop Deceased Appeared
in the House.
Major Jordan, and Mr Reed, sent to the Upper House to see him
Qualified. They Return and Acquaint Mr Speaker, they saw him
Qualified, in the usual form
The House Adjourns Untill to Morrow morning at 9 a-Clock

The Humble Address of the Lower House of Assembly
May it Please Your Excellency.
We His Majesties most Dutiful and Loyal Subjects the Repre-
sentatives of the freemen of Maryland in Assembly Conveen'd Re-
turn Your Excelency Our Unfeigned thanks for Your Kind Speech
at the opening of this Session, and although, we are Concerned, that
you have not Yet Received His Lordships Answer, to the Joint
