As Every Days Debate on this Subject will probably run the
Country to greater Expence than Years Charges to the Council of
State, we relye you will not desire any further Delay in this Matter

By the Upper house of Assembly 8 April 1736
Gentlemen.

U. H. J.

We find by the Journal of this house that a Bill Entituled an Act
ascertaining the Gauge of Tobacco hhds and to prevent croping
cutting and defacing Tobacco taken on Board Ships and Vessels &
to prevent making seconds was passed & sent by your house to this
house, who made some Amendments to the said Bill and returned the
same to your house with an Endorsement that the said Bill was
passed this house with those Amendments; And as that Bill is
not yet sent back amongst the Engrossed Bills to this house; The
Session now drawing near to an End We desire to know if your
house agreed to such Amendments

your house agreed to the Amendments proposed by this house to the
Bill ascertaining the Gauge of Tobacco hhds &c
As the Session is drawing to a Conclusion we hope to receive
some Satisfaction in that Point before We can agree to send down
all the Engrossed Bills now lying in this house
