By the Upper house of Assembly 29 March 1736
Gentlemen
His Excellency in Council having directed the several Justices
of the County Courts to return the State and Condition of the
Records of their said Court, and in Case any Defects appeared
therein that they should certify in whose time and by what Clerk the
same was made, and that they certify the State & Condition of the
several Original Papers Docquetts Entries and Minutes of Pro-
ceedings in their Court; The Justices of Several Counties have ac-
cordingly made Returns of the Papers herewith sent, which being
laid before this House, It appears that some of the former and
present County Clerks have neglected their Duty in the Entries they

ought to have made, and therefore this House is of Opinion some
further Care should be taken and Directions given for the Security
of the Properties of the Inhabitants of this Province

A Message from the Lower house with the Assize Law by Mrs
Magruder and Jordan

By the Lower house of Assembly 29 March 1736
May it please your Honours
This House hath added a Clause to the Bill Entituled a supple-
mentary Act to the Act Entituled an Act for the Tryal of all Matters
of fact in the several Counties where they have arisen or shall arise
&c which tho different in Words is agreeable in Substance with the
Amendment proposed by your Honours and therefore We desire you
will pass the Bill as now altered

Which Bill being read is assented to and ordered to be so En-
dorsed and sent by Col Ward
Adjourned until two of the Clock in the Afternoon
