Read the second time the Bill Entituled an Act for the Erecting
a Town near the Head of Monokin River on the South side thereof
in Somerset County, and for Laying into Lotts Twenty five Acres
of Land, and will pass, the words, One Brick Chimney, being In-
serted after House in 7th Line of 4th Page, and that the Nomina-
tion of the Town be Left to the Right Honourable the Lord Pro-
prietary, Ordered to be so Endorsed, and sent to the Lower House
by George Plater Esqr
Read the Petition of John Kirk of Dorchester County and Referred
to the Consideration of next Session of Assembly, And Ordered that

The Conferees nominated and Appointed made Choice of the
Honourable Matthew Tilghman Ward Esqr Chairman and Archi-
bald MoPherson Clerk, and Agreed on the forl Report.
Your Conferees haveing taken into Consideration the Bill for
Emitting 72ooo£ in Bills of Credit &c. which requires Several
Amendments to be made to it, as in Page Ist Leaving out a part of the
Preamble; to mention the Trustees to be Men of Knowledge Probity
and Fortune; Page the 2d to Add after the Word (Execution) £8.
and to remove any of them in Case of Misbehaviour or Unfitness to
Act when and as often as it shall appear to his Lordship or the Gov-
ernor or Commander in Chief that the publick Welfare of this
province shall Require such Removal
Your Conferees Conceive that the some proposed to be be Emitted
will not be Sufficient to Answer the Several Ends for which it is
Designed as will appear by the following particulars.
The Sume to be given to Each Taxable will amount to very near
if not quite 49500.. 00..0
