A Message from the Lower House by Mrs Belt and Sprigge

By the Lower House of Assembly 22 April 1735

In answer to your message of this day by George Plater Esqr
upon Inspection into the Act of Assembly for raising 3d p hhd
between 29th September 1732 & 29th September 1733 We find that
the said Duty is to be applyed and disposed of in such Manner as
shall be directed and appointed by the Governour or President for
the time being and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly &
not otherwise We therefore taking into our Consideration the Want
of Arms in the Province do think proper that the said Duty be paid
by the Several Treasurers to his Excellency the Governour to be
immediately laid out as he shall think proper in the purchase of
Arms to be distributed to the Several Countys with Which We
desire your Honours Concurrence
