The following Message with the Copy of the Assessment made by

the Governour & Council is Sent to the Lower House by Philip
Lee Esqr

By the Upper house of Assembly 25 March 1735
Gentlemen
You have herewith a Copy of the Assessmt made & applyed by the
Governour and Council towards defraying the charges of this Prov-
ince for the year 1733, which by an Act of Assembly of this Prov-
ince is directed to be laid before the General Assembly wherein the
Justices of the Provincial Court are by mistake allowed the same for
their itinerant charges p Day, as they have for their Attendance,
which we conceive ought to be deducted out of their future Al-
lowance

Read the Petition of Several County Clerks of this Province
praying an Allowance may be made them proportionable to their
Trouble in the distribution of the thirty Shillings p Taxable paper
Mony at two Several Times of Payment, and referred to the Con-

yesterday
Read the Petition of the Minister Vestrymen and Church War-
dens of Durham Parish in Charles County praying that a bill may
be brought in to add Part of Port tobacco Parish to Durham Parish
after the Death of the present Incumbent, referred to the Considera-
tion of the Lower House of Assembly the aforegoing Petitions sent
by Col. Ward
Adjourned till two of the Clock in the Afternoon

This House met again according to adjournment Present as in
the Morning
Read the Petition of the Inhabitants of Mil ford Hundred in
Cecil County and several others to the Northward of Susquehanah
River in the said County praying that a Bill may be brought in to
prevent a prosecution against them for their not burning Tobo
according to the Directions of an Act of Assembly (they not making
