Read the Second time and will pass, the Word, Seaven instead of,
Three, being inserted in the last Line of the Bill

with a Bill Entituled an Act for Erecting a Town at and about the
Landing Called the Elk Ridge Landing near the Head of Potapsco
River in Ann Arrundell County thus Endorsed

May it please Your Honours.
On Reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of the Upper parts of
Ann Arrundell County to both Houses of Assembly; praying that a
Certain Quantity of Land might be laid out for a Town at and about
the Elk Ridge Landing sent down to this House by Mr Attorney and
Conceiving that the Indorsement made by your Honours thereupon
not to Answer the End or Intention of the prayer of the said
petitioners
This House hath proceeded upon an Inquiry into the Allegations
of the Petitioners and find as is therein Set forth the place prayed for
the laying out a Town at the Elk Ridge Landing the most Conve-
nient and Commodious of any upon Potapsco River for the back

Inhabitants of Ann Arrundel the Inhabitants of Monococy and
potowmeck as well of the Western parts of Baltimore County for
their bringing of Waggons with Grain and other Commodities &c.
It Likewise being made Appear to this House that there are Several
such great Runs, and impassable Hills between the place prayed for
by the Petitioners and the Town proposed to be laid out at Potapsco
