We must acknowledge Your Excellency's Goodness, in consult-
ing the Conveniency of Our private Affairs, and health in the Choice
of a Season proper for this Session
With great Satisfaction and Return of Our unfeigned thanks,
We receive your Excellency's congratulatory Mention of the fav-
ourable Passage and happy Arrival of His Lordship and Lady
Baltimore into Great Britain
His Lordship has been pleased to give us a fresh Instance, of how
much Importance the Preservation of Himself and His Noble
Family is to the Prosperity of this Province, by a Care worthy
Our greatest Applause, to prevent the counterfeiting Our Paper
Currency; Your Excellency justly supposes it an Additional Secur-
ity to its real Worth; And we presume to flatter Ourselves with an
Assurance that not only the Credit of Our Paper Money will be
kept up against the Utmost Efforts of designing People, who from
any private Views shall attempt to prejudice the Value of what the
Country has thought fit now to make so Essential, as Our Paper
Currency is, to the wel being of the Inhabitants
Your Excellency's Readiness on all Occasions for the real Honour
and Prosperity of this Province make other Assurances for that
Purpose needless, especially when at the same time you are pleased
by a favourable Opinion of Our good Dispositions not only to recom-
mend, but even press Unanimity upon us; As this must expedite
publick Business, Your Excellency shews your Tenderness for
Everything relating to the Good of Maryland by a generous Earnest-
ness for lessening Our publick Expences
