The House met according to Adjournment. The Members were
Called and all Present as Yesterday, The proceedings of Yesterday
were read.
A Bill Entituled an Act for raising a Duty of three half pence p
Hogshead on all Tobacco Exported out of this Province to be
Applied towards the Encouragemt of the Publick Schools within
this Province, Read the first and second time by Especial Order and
passed.
Coll Ward from the Upper House Delivered to Mr Speaker the
Bill Entituled an Act for laying out the Town a New Called Marl-
borough Town &c. Indorsed thus. [The text of this endorsement
is printed at page 414.]
Collo Tilghman from the Upper House Delivered to Mr Speaker
the bill Entituled an Act to prohibit raising of Swine in Upper Marl-
borough town in Prince Georges County Indorsed thus,
