428 Assembly Proceedings, July 11- August 8, 1732.

parts of the Province (as Severall Members of this House protest
they themselves had not) and as Your Resolutions have not been so
long made, or so Carefully published, as that there is even a proba-
bility that the People in Generall had Oppertunity of being Ac-
quainted with them so it would (this house conceives) be hard to
inflict the highest punishment on any one for not complying Exactly
with any new Resolution, which is not promulgated so as that
every person concerned therein could have Sufficient knowledge
thereof; And that it would be Extreamly Rigorous to punish with
loss of Liberty or Life any person under Such Circumstances.
