The Upper House. 31


Lots should be burthened with the payment of any Sum Especially
as there is at present an Agreemt between the Lord Proprietary and

the People of Maryland concerning the Quit Rents and when that
shall Cease His Lordship will be Entituled to the Annual Sum
mentioned in the Grant of that Land according to the Tenor thereof,
Therefore desires Your Honours to Pass the Bill as it was first Sent
up to Your Honours by this House.

Upon reading the Bill for Improving the Staple of Tobacco &c.
This House are of Opinion that some Amendments are wanting
therein, and that a Conference between some Members of both
Houses be appointed for Expediting the same with which We desire
the Concurrence of Your House

This House agreeth with Your Honours proposals for a Confer-
ence in Relation to the Bill for Improving the Staple of Tobacco &c
and for that End hath appointed Collo Greenfield Daniel Dulany
Esqr Edmond Jennings Esqr Major Harris Mr Philip Key & Mr
Samuel Hanson imediately to Join such members as you shall appoint

A Bill from the Lower House by Mr Beale and Mr Warfield
Entituled an Act to cut of An Entail of a Tract of Land called
Marshes Seat lying in Ann Arrundel County and to Invest William
Vernon with an Estate in Fee simple in the said Tract of Land and
to Settle a Parcel of Land being Part of Three Tracts of Land called
Happy Choice, Clarks Groves and the Addition to Clarks Groves
lying in Prince Georges County on Thos Knighton and the Heirs of
His Body in Lieu thereof thus Endorsed.

By the Lower House of Assembly 8th June 1730.
Read the first & second time by an Especial Order and will Pass.
