By the Lower House of Assembly May the 25th 1730
May it please your Honours
This House hath appointed Collo Greenfeild Mr Dulany Major
Harris Mr Jennings Mr Samuel Hanson and Mr Key as Conferrees
to Join Philemon Lloyd Esqr Collo Tilghman and Philip Lee Esqr
appointed by your House to consider of a Tobacco Law and desires
to know when and where Your Honours will appoint to meet on
the said Conference

To which the following Answer is prepared and Sent to the Lower
House by Collo Tilghman.

By the Upper House of Assembly 25th May 1730
Gentlemen
In Answer to Your Message of this Afternoon by Mr Harris and
Mr Jennings Collo Richard Tilghman and Philip Lee Esqr two of the
Members appointed by this House (Phil0 Lloyd Esqr not being yet
come over the Bay but hourly Expected, who upon his coming
will be also ready to Join) are ready to Join the Members Nominated
by your House in Order to Consider of a Tobacco Law at the House
of Mrs Jordan imediately.

Adjourned till to morrow Morning Nine of the Clock.

Tuesday Morning 26th of May 1730.
This House met again according to Adjournment.
Present as yesterday with the Addition of John Hall Esqr
Read the Petition of John Cornelius, Benjamin Freeman and
John Vines Languishing Prisoners in Ann Arrundel Coty Goal and
Ordered Severally to be thus Endorsed.

By the Upper House of Assembly 26th May 1730

Read and Referred to the Consideration of the Lower House of
Assembly, and that the Sheriff have the pref ference of the Prisoners
Effects towards payment of his fees, and the Remainder of the
Effects to be divided among his several Creditors for payment of
their Debts.
