October next aforesaid, then his present Act, and every Clause
therein contained, shall be Void and of no force.

An Act reviving and continuing the Act entituled, An Act ascer-
taining the Gauge and Tare of Tobacco-Hogsheads, &c. from
the Twenty Ninth Day of September next, until the Twenty
Ninth Day of September which shall be in the Year of our Lord
One Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty One.

Forasmuch as an Act made at a Sessions of Assembly, begun
and held at the City of Annapolis, in Ann-arundel County, the
Seventeenth Day of July, in the first Year of the Dominion of the
Right Honourable Charles, absolute Lord and Proprietary of the
Provinces of Maryland and Avalon, Lord Baron of Baltemore, &c.
Annoq; Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixteen, enti-
tuled, An Act ascertaining the Gauge and Tare of Tobacco-Hogs-
heads, and to prevent cropping, cutting and defacing Tobacco, taken
on Board Ships, or other Vessels, upon Frieght, and for laying an
imposition on Tobacco per the Hogshead, for the Support of Gov-
ernment, and for the Encouraging Settlements in this Province, by
ascertaining the Manner of paying his Lordship's Alienation Fines
and Quit-Rents, for the Term therein proposed, and for taking off
the Three Pence per Hogshead, formerly raised for the publick
Charge, expires the Twenty Ninth Day of September next; and for
preventing any Inconveniency that might happen either to his Lord-
ship, or the Inhabitants of this Province, if the aforementioned Act
should expire before a further Provision could be made for its Con-
tinuance; it is therefore prayed it may be Enacted,
And be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprie-
tary, by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's Gover-
nour, and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly, and by the
Authority of the same, That the abovementioned Act, entituled, An
Act for ascertaining the Gauge and Tare of Tobacco-Hogsheads,
&c. is hereby revived and continued, to be and remain in full Force
from the Twenty Ninth Day of September next, until the Twenty
Ninth Day of September, which shall be in the Year of our Lord
One Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty One.
