Upper House by Mr Beale and Mr Worthington, Who return and
Say they Delivered the same. Collo Belt from the Committee of
Aggreivances and Courts of Justice Delivered to Mr Speaker the
following Report Viz.

By the Committee of Aggreivances July the 29th 1729

Its Humbly Offered to this Committee as an Aggreivance that
the Justices of Talbot and Cecil County Courts did not Qualify
themselves by takeing the Oath of Judge or Justice according to the
form Mentioned in an Act of Assembly, Entituled an Act for Ascer-
taining the form of the Oath of Judge or Justice within the time
Directed by that Act to be taken; all which is referred by Your
Committee to the Consideration of the House.

Wednesday July the 30th 1729.

The House met according to Adjournment. The Members were
Called and all Present as Yesterday. The Proceedings of Yester-
day were read over.

July 30

The Question being Put whether the bill Entituled an Act against
Ingrossers and Regrators should Pass or not Resolved in the
Affirmative.
The said Bill was Accordingly Indorsed and Sent to the Upper
House by Mr Beale and Mr Matthews who return and say they
Delivered the same.
Daniel Dulany Esqr from the Committee of Laws delivered to
Mr Speaker a bill Entituled an Act to Ascertain the fees of Attor-
ny's and other Persons practising the Law and to Prevent Extortion
frauds and Abuses therein, Which being read the first time the
Question was Put whether the said Bill should have a Second read-
ing or not Resolved in the Affirmative.
The Question being Put whether the Attornys on Criminal
Prosecutions in the County Courts should be Allowed 200lb or 400lb
of tobacco for a fee. Resolved that they be Allowed 200lb Tobacco.
This House taking into Consideration the Act of Assembly Enti-
tuled an Act to restrain the ill Practices of Attornys &c. Resolved
on the following Alterations.
Ist That the Title and Preamble of the said Law be entirely
Altered.
