Gentl. The matter of the within Petition is of so great
Consequence in relation of all the Landed Estates wthin this
Province that we must press you to Enter into Such
Measures as may Prevent the further Mischiefs that must
necessarily arise from the Present Condition of the Land
Office and all the Records therein and that you will Inspect
the Report of the Comittee appointed last Sessions of Assem-
bly Concerning the said Land Records and Order them to be
bound & put in good repair

Honr the Govr An Engrost Bill Impowering Messrs Wm Clay-
ton of Talbot County & Jas Earle & Wm Turbutt of Queen
Ann's County to Sell of the Lands of Robert Smith Esqr of
Talbott County afd deced to pay to Richard Cole of Queen
Anns County & Mary his Wife the Daughter and heir of
Renatus Smith deced the Surviving Execrx of the sd Robert
Smith deced what the said Renatus Smith paid on Account of
the said Robert Smith more than Effects Came to his hands
and for the paymt of his other Debts. To wch is thus written
