for a hearing till Wednesday next and ordered that the Clert
of the Mayor's Court Lay before the House a List of fees.
The petition of William and Mary Parish in Charles County
was Read and Referred till Monday next for hearing
The petition of John Brannock praying to be Relieved on a
Survey for him made but [no] Certificate returned Read and
referred till next Sessions and Ordered the parties Concerned
appear before this House next Sessions and answer the Same
if they think fitt and leave given to Subpoena Evidences.
The petition of Sarah Lloyd Executrix of the Testament of
Edward Lloyd Esqr Deceased Complaining of some foul prac-
tices in the Secretary's office was Read, and Ordered that the
Clerks of the said office appear before the House Immediately.
Mr Edward Griffith according to the order above appears
and being demanded how such an Endorsment came to be
made as in the said petition is mentioned viz: Recorded in
Libr P. L No 4 fol: 261 p Ed: Griffith Clerk, Whereas no such

Record was made Answers that he never see the said Patent
nor made any such Endorsement but that a certain Mr Moses
ffodry who was and Still is employed by Mr Secretary Lloyd
to Record the patents made the same. Ordered that the Ser-
jeant of this House take into his Custody the said ffodry so
that He have him here at one of the Clock in the afternoon or
when the house shall think fitt to call for him to answer the
same.

The House Adjournes till one a Clock in the Afternoon.

Mr Stoddert from the Comittee of Laws Delivers M'
Speaker the Answer to His Excellency's Speech which was
read and approved and Ordered to be Entred as follows, Viz:

May it Please Your Excellency:
Whatsoever the motives have been that Determind their
Lordships to prorogue the Assembly to this time (which
Doubtless were Weighty) we think it our Indispensible Duty
to return to your Excellency our thankfull Acknowledgmt of
the Repeated Instances your Excellency has given us from the
time of your first arrival of your great Care and Concern for
the good Government and welfare of this Province So for
giveing us this Oppertunity in pursuance of their Lordships
appointment for Concerting those Important affairs your
