Col Ephraim Augustine Herman Attended with Mr Roger
Laramore and Mr Wm Dare appears in this House to Qualify
himself as a member for Cecill County by taking the Severall
oaths appointed to be taken by Act of Assembly And there-
upon the said Oaths are administred to him who takes the
Same and signed the Oath of Abjuration & Test &c.
The Honble Thos Brooke Esqr being Demanded by his Ex-
cellency the Govr to Answer in his place Concerning his
signing an Execution for Alexander Contee Clerk of Charles
County pursuant to an Order made last Councill, Who an-
swers that he did not signe the same with any Intent or De-
signe of Prejudice to any pson: which his Excy receives as

Satisfaction, which Execution is as follows Viz. Charles
Absolute Lord and Proprietarie of the Provinces of Maryland
and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c. To the Sheriffe of
Prince Georges County Greeting. We Command you that
According to Law you Levy from the sevll psons in the List
hereunto Annext named the sevll Sums of Tobo from them due
and Sett down And when the same or any part thereof you
have Collected, That you Account for the same with Alex-
ander Cuntee Clerk of Charles County Court. Witness Thos
Brooke Esqr President of our Councill of State in this our
Province of Maryland This Twenty first day of Decemr
Annoq Dom. 1719

The Petition of James Gladstone and Mehitable Parepoint,
being Read is thus Endorst Viz.

By the Upper House of Assembly
Apr ill the 7th 1720
The Consideration of the within Petition is referred to the
Lower House of Assembly

and sent by Col Tilghman who returns and says he delivered
