John Rousby Esqr and Mr Wm Young brought the Ingrost
bill for Indemnifying Col Smithsons Exrx in the payment ot
mony due to Free schools Assented to by the Lower house.
Read in this house and Assented to. And Col Samuel Young
sent to Acquaint the Lo: Ho: thereof
Col Edward Scott and Mr Henry Peregrine Jowles from the
lower house with two Engrost Bills Viz.
A Bill for relief of George Walls a Languishing Prisoner
in Charles County
A Supplementary Act to the Act for ascertaining the
bounds of Land within this pvince.
both past by the Lower Ho And being Read is Past by this.
And John Hall Esqr sent to Acquaint the Lower house thereof.
Major Josiah Wilson and two others with the following
message.

By the lower house of Assembly June 8th 1717

May It please Yor Honrs. We find by the Act made the 26th
day of Aprill 1715 that the 18d p hhd was raised to the Right
honble Benedict Leonard Lord Baltemore in lieu & Stead of
the 12d p hhd raised to the late Lord Charles Baltemore in
Consideration of his takeing his Quit Rents and Alienation
fines in Tobacco at 2d p lb and was to be paid to the severall
Naval Officers by the master of every Ship or Vessell &c. That

the Navall Officers on receipt of the 18d p hhd were obliged
to render An Account of and pay the same to the Publick
Treasurers of this Province to be by the Treasurers accounted
for and paid to the Right Honable Benedict Leonard Lord
Baltemore in Case he shoud be favourably pleased to accept
the same in Consideration of his receiving the Quit Rents and
Alienation ffines in tobacco at 2d Sterl p Ib. after such Accept-
ance shoud be duly signifyed to this Province otherwise the
said mony was to be applyed to the defraying the publick
Charge
We also find by an Act past the 9th August Last to Confirm
his Lordships Acceptance of the said 18d p hhd (which his
Lordship has signifyed his Assent to) that his Lordship was
willing to accept of the said 18d p hhd on the Conditions men-
tioned in that Law.
We presume his Lordship Accepted the sd mony as then
Raised and therefore we hope his Lordship Cannot Esteem it a
