Yesterdays proceedings are read.

Coll: Addison from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker
the bill for the relief of Severall poor prisoners thus Endorst
Viz:

By the Upper House of Assembly June 3d 1719

Read and will pass with the following Amendmts in that part
relateing to Christopher Bateman Viz: at X the words (En-
joyned the aforesd Samuel Lyle)
Signed p Order John Beard Cl Up. Ho

Which was read with the amendments proposed and past
for Engrossing and sent to the Committee of Laws to be
Engrost.
The Question was put whether a Bill shall be brought in
obliging those who shall purchase any Convicts imported into
this Province to give Security for the good behaviour of such
Convicts

Carried in the Affirmative by the Majority of Votes. And
then the Question was put whether the bill shall be to take
place this Sessions or not.
Carried in the affirmative by the Majority of Votes And
ordered the Committee of laws prepare the bill.
Supplement to the Act relateing to Servants and Slaves.
Read the first and Second time by Especial order and will
pass which was so Endorst.
An Engrost bill for the destribution of Such Intestates es-
tates as leave no legall Representatives. Read and Ordered
to be thus Endorst Viz:

Read and Assented to by the Lower House of Assembly and
Signed p order M. Jenifer Clk. Lo Ho

Both which bills were sent to the Upper House by Mr Earle
and Mr Waughop.
They Return and say they delivered them.
Bill for Securing the peace of this Province agt the Vil-
lainies of Imported Convicts Read the first time and ordered
a Second reading in the Afternoon.
The Comittee of laws bring into the house the report of their
Sentiments on the Opinions of the Lawyers in great Britain
