Coll: Young from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker the
following Message Viz.

By the Upper House of Assembly June the 2d 1719.

Gent. In Answer to your Message in the forenoon by Mr
Charles Wright and two others, this house has appointed Col
Samuel Young and Philemon Lloyd Esqr to Joyn with the
Members of your house you therein Mention in a Committee
to inspect the publick records, who will be ready to attend on
that Service in the Secretarys office in the Stadt house to
morrow Morning Seven of the Clock

Esqr Hall from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker, Bill
for relief of John Beale with the following Message viz:

By the Upper House of Assembly June 2d 1719.

Gent The bill for relief of John Beale of Charles County
being read the first and Second times will pass Leaving out the
clause Enabling him to prosecute for his Costs and Damages.

In Answer to Which the following answer was prepared
Viz:

By the Lower House of Assembly June the 2d 1719
May it Please your Honours
We have considered your Message with the Bill for relief
of John Beale & conceive the clause to enable him to maintain
An Action for his Damages is only to remove some Doubts
that have been occasioned meerly by his Oppressive and In-
jurious treatment and that should he Suffer in this part
meerly thro his want of Ability to Maintain his right when
first disputed, it would be so farr giving his opponants advan-
tage of their Own Wrong as seems not agreeable to the Justice
of the Legislature nor the equity of this Cause. We therefore
Unanimously desire your Honours for Justice Sake to Concur
wth us in the passing the bill as proposed.

And Sent to the Upper House by Mr Parry and Mr Lara-
more.
They return and say they Delivered it.
