Which being Read Resolved the following Message be sent
in answer

By the Upr ho of Assembly June 6th 1717

Gentlemen. In answer to your Message by Mr Tyler and
five other members of your house we have appointed Col
Coursey Esqr Lloyd and Col Tilghman three of the members
of our house to Conferr with the Gent mentioned in your
message about the Act for regulateing Ordinaries who are
ready to Join with you at the house of Mr John Dodd in the
City of Annapolis at six of the Clock this Evening

The Complaint of Moses Lecompt of Dorchester County
against the Justices of that Court, And also against Mr John
Kirk an Attorny thereof being heard this day by his Excell-
ency the Govr in Council. And It appearing that the said
Attorney had Imposed upon the Justices by obtrudeing Au-
thorities of the Law and practice of England against the
known Practice and Act of Assembly of this Province for
sumoning Iurors, His Excellency was pleased to tell the said
Justices that as they had been so Imposed upon by the afd
Mr John Kirk It would not Consist with their honour or
Justice to suffer it but that they Ought to suspend the said
Kirk from his Practice in that Court untill such time as he
shall make the said Moses Lecompt Satisfaccon for the Dam-
age he has sustained by such his indirect Practice.

The House Adjourns till to morrow morning

Friday June the 7th 1717.
