Charity and Goodness that was Intentionally Extended to
this Province as Well as Virginia may not be wholly Limitted
to that Colony Especially Considering that we have good
reason to Believe the Greatest Part of that Fund Arrises on
the Export of Tobo from Maryland wch is now solely applyed
to the Colledge in Virginia by the Remote Scituation whereof
And Other Insurmountable Difficulties we have scarce a Pos-

sibility of any manner of Benefitt by that so considerable a
Fund
We acknowledge the Great Obligations of our Country to
your Excy by recomending to us the Consideration of this so
important an affair wch has been but too Long Neglected to the
Great Discouragement of Learning Amongst us and shall by
our humble Address to his Majesty sett forth the Truth of
our Case in which we Doubt not but so much Justice will Ap-
pear that it will meet with such favourable Reception and
Result as may be Agreeable to the Continued Course of his
Majestys Justice and Goodness so Eminently observable thro
the whole Series of his wise and Pious Reign.
Lastly we take leave to Express to your Excy the Grateful

Sense we have how sincerely you have always Acted in

Respect to the Welfare of this pvince And still Continue to
profess how resolute your Intentions are we shall therefore
seriously Consider the sevll matters Proposed to us this Ses-
sions & make Report thereof from time to time that nothing on
Our part may be Wanting for the Security of the Protestant
Succession the necessary Support of Government the Honr
of the Lord Proprietor and the Maintenance of the Liberties
and Properties of his Lordship's Good People of this p vince

His Excellency offers to this house that Esqr Brook a mem-
ber of this Honourable House has not made his Appearance
at the Councill Board since the last Assembly notwithstanding
Severall publick notices given him to appear, nor has he
dureing the sitting of this Sessions sent any Reasonable Ex-
cuse to this Board for his not appearing, being Seven days
since.

And Desires the Opinion of this House

Whereupon Resolved and Ordered that The Honble
Thomas Brooke Esqr be sent for to Attend Imediately his
Duty in this House as a Member thereof
A copy whereof is made out & Delivered the Sherriffe

The House adjourns till to morrow morning
