Your Approbation of our Proceedings in the last Sessions
of Assembly gives us so just a Sense of your Good Inclinations
to advance the publick Weal of this province, That We your


Lpps upper and lower houses in Assembly Convened begg
Leave to make our humble Acknowledgemts of your Ldps good-
ness in Approving of our Endeavours in Cultivating a good
and perfect Understanding between my Lord Propry and the
good People of this Province which wee still take to be our
duty to Improve to his Ldps greatest Advantage. Your Ldps
ready Concurence with such publick Acts and proceedings as
tend to the Advancing the proprietary of this province still
Encourages us to hope for whatever Else the Real friends of
my Ld propry Family and Interest Can in reason Expect But
that which gives the truest taste of our happiness under your
Ldps Dominion is the Notices wee frequently receive of your
Resolutions to Adheare to and Encourage the protestant In-
terest & religion here Notwithstanding the Assiduous En-
deavours of a restless faction that are Contending to Disturb
their Quiett by Setting up Popery and the Romish Supersti-
tion in Competition with them which they Doe not Only En-
deavour but pretend a right to. Wee begg leave therefore in
most humble manner to represt to your Ldps that your good
Offices and Endeavours to Divert all Differences between your
Lievt Governour & Some Gent, here do Sufficiently Testifie
your Ldps Just regard of the peace and Tranquility of the Prov-
ince in which wee are so Intirely Satisfyed that wee Should
gladly have avoided this Occasion of interrupting yr Ldps other
more weighty and Important affairs by soe long an adress did
wee not lye under a necessity of Saying something in Justifica-
