A Bill for Reliefe of Sundry Poor Prisoners in Ann Ar-
undell County being read is Endorsed as follows

By the Upper House of Assembly
May the 7th 1718

Read the first time And this House thinks il um easuuable

that Dominick Kenslaugh and Mary Creagh should be Dis-
charged from any Other Debts than those they are now in
Prison for. And we further Observe that it is But Reason-
able the Sherr should have recompence for finding the within
named Prisoners Victualls since their Imprisonment which
we leave to the Lower house to Consider of.

Sent p Collo Addison who returns and says he Delivered it.
William Bladen and Robert Ungle Esqr Two Naval Officers
being called in his Excy Asks them whether they oblidge the
Masters of Ships or Vessells to Take any Certain number of
Permitts. They Answer they do not. But make out and
Charge for as many as the Masters of Ships and Vessells
require of them and no more.

Mr Adam Bell of St Mary's County who acted for Mr
Thomas Macnemara as Naval Officer of Petuxent having
been sent for by the Serjeant at Armes, to appear to answer
his Contempt for departing out of Town when he was Or-
dered to attend to answer the Complaint made by Capt Pul-
sifer of Injustice done him by Mr Macnemara in his Account
on his Clearance &c. the said Mr Bell Appears.
His Excy acquaints him of the Injustice done to Capt
Pulsifer in Charging Exorbitant Fees in that Account, And
that he has Unjustly taken from him the 20 p Ct on his Liquors
which the Law Allows him

Ordered That the said Mr Adam Bell Pay unto Mr George
Valentine Serjeant at Armes the Sume of forty shillings Currt
mony adjudged to him by this House for his Fees for fetching
