On Reading the Petition of Hester Smith & Hesther Old-
field the foll^o Endorsm^t is Ordered to be made thereon Viz.

By the Uper house of Assembly
May 5^th 1718
Upon Reading the within Petition this house is of Opinion
that the Pet^rs are Objects of Charity And that by the Corrupt
& Malitious Evidence of the psecutors they have suffered
unjustly, Wherefore we Referr their Deplorable & unhappy
Circumstances being Charged with Great Fees (all of which
are Remitted Except the Sher riffs) unto the Consideration
of the Lower House of Assembly, and further ppose that
after such Abatements are made on the Sherriffs Fees as may
be thought Reasonable, the s^d p sons may be sett at large from
their Unhappy Confinements at the publick Charge
