Magistrates in the discharge of the truth l reposed in them as
much as in you Lies and that you will not slacken your En-

deavours to establish the Protestant Interest in Maryland, the
Consequences whereof cannot redound to your Prejudice.
And since we are fully satisfied the Complaints that have been
made agt your Excy and Uneasinesses that have Been given
you have been founded merely on Your Excys Endeavours for
the Comon Good of all his Majesty's Good Subjects here,

Wee begg Leave on this Occasion to Declare ourselves
bound in Justice, duty & Gratitude to do what in us lies to
Support Your Excys Character and Interest agt the Attempts
of all the disaffected whose restless and ambitious Spirits will
not let them see when they are happy.

And we further Declare to the End that it may be known to
all the world and recorded on our Journalls to the Honour of
his Lordships Governmt and of Your Excys memory to Pos-
terity, That through the whole Course of this your Excys
almost four years Admrcon by the strictest Observation we
Can make, your Governmt has been Just and universally Satis-
factory to all his Majestys faithfull Protestant Subjects here
and Complaind of by none but the Roman Catholicks and
Their Adherents, and by them without any Other Cause that
we can find Save that of Party and Principle.

Capt Daniel Mariartee and two others bring from the
Lower House the Three following Bills Past by that House
Viz.

A Bill for Confirming the Last will and Testamt of Eliza-
beth Devegh and for vesting John Devegh an Estate in fee
simple in all the Lands whereof the said Elizabeth dyed seized
A Bill to Enable Benjamin Howard to sell certain Lands in
Ann Arundell County and to Entail other Lands belonging to
him in Baltemore County
A Bill for Investing the Right Heirs of Edward Day with
an Estate of fee Simple in Certain Lands
Read in this House the Petition of the Inhabitants of Dor-
chester County, and none Appearing to Pursue the same,
Resolved the follo message be sent to the Lower House:

By the Uper House of Assembly

Aprill 28th 1718
Gent of the Lower House
The Petition of the Inhabitants of Dorchester County which
was Referred to this Sessions being Signed by one hand and
no Prosecutors Appearing (the persons accused being Ready

1 trust intended.
