Read at this board the Petition of Philip Eilbeck of Kent
County Setting forth that he has Been a Prisoner for Debt
in Kent County almost Two years and haveing nothing
whereby he Can discharge His body from Prison nor any
likelyhood of Being Discharged
Prays that an Act may Pass in his favour.
Which is Ref ered to the Consideration of the Lower House,
And according so Endorsed & Sent Down by Philip Lloyd
Esqr who returns and Says he did it.

The House Adjourns till to morrow morning

Saturday April 26. 1718
The House meets According to Adjournment &
Present as yesterday.

This House having Prepared an Address to his Excellency
Presents it to him Viz.

By the Upper House of Assembly
May it please your Excellency.
Sr Their Lordships approbation of our Proceedings in
Assembly as well as those other Consular matters Recom-
mended to their Consideration fills us with the Justest Ideas of
the good Effects of Your Excellencys Administration here
Your Prudent Conduct on the late Conjunction of Affairs

whereby the Dark Intrigues and Secret machinations of a
Popish fraction are in a Great measure Defeated And the
Good People of this Province freed from the mortifying ap-
prehensions of a Lord Proprietor Engaged in the Interest of
Papists and their Adherents (a notion hath been too Busily
handed among the People) doth loudly call for the most
Grateful Acknowledgments for it is to Your Excellency's
Just Representation That we Owe their Lordships Prudent
wise and Agreeable Determination in those matters which
have of late Given this Country so much Trouble & Uneasiness
so Agreeable Indeed that we may now Venture to say that we
are Secure agt farther Attempts of a Restless and Ambitious
Party Who not Content with the Indulgence our Governmt
allow them are now Pushing on their Hazzard of their Present
Quiet Rather than Stiffle their Aspiring Designs of shareing
in Publick Administration of Affaires.
Indeed Sr It is with a Great deal of Joy that we see their
Lordships my Lord Baltemore & Guilford Engage so Heartily
in that Cause, And that they are so farr from giveing any
