Att a Chancery Court held at the City of Annapolis on the
Twenty fourth day of Febry Anno Dom 1717
Present
His Excellency John Hart Esqr Governour
His Excellency affirms that Mr Thomas Macnemara in the
face of this Court gave him the lye in Inderect Terms by deny-
ing that he had Ever begged his Pardon before Mr Birchfield
& Mr Bladen Which the Governour affirmes he did in these
words. " I am sorry that ever I sayd anything which might
offend the Governour," but that he wou'd not begg the Coun-
cill's Pardon
Mr Thos Macnemara Requireing that a Letter to him from
the Lord Guilford may be recorded in the records of this
Court, His Excy Tells him it would be better for him to let it
alone than to have it Recorded. But the said Macnemara
Insisting upon it as the Right of a Subject; Tis Granted and
Recorded accordingly as follows Viz.

I have Received yours of June 22d & July 12 and upon
Consultation with my Lord Baltemore on the Subject matter
of them, Wee have again Writt to the Governour to order
matters so that you may not by any means be Interrupted in
your practice. But I do not think fitt to meddle at all with the
Proposall between you and Mr Bladen
