1763 March 22d I give you Joy, this Day Peace is Pro-
claimed throughout the Capital and of wh inclosed is the
Proclamation, with the Definitive Treaty of Peace trans-
mitted you, for yr consideration to Publication as usual on
such occasion. And is transmitted you, Mr Lewis Evans
Chart in 1755 in which is a Division Line that runs up from
the Middle point on the Line E. & W. from thence, run up
to the circle off New Castle, cutting the Rivers spring Heads,
inclosed is a fine Print of the Earl of Bute very like.
N. of the Lord Proprietors Estate, it is to be observed the
Two Houses, at their conference in 1758 on the Assessmt
Bill for His Majesty's service, did not Brake off abt Tax of
his Lordps Estate, But upon parts Prior in the said Bill of
Unconstitutional influence, by the Lower House adhered to
& to which they have kept to since, upon their renewal of
Offer of the said Bill; with Addition of reflections agt the
Lord Proprietor. Of his Lordps Quit Rent Tax, why? in
that right he stands as doth his Majesty's Quit Rent through-
out America. Respecting the Militia, stiled by the Lo: House
Volunteers not so the Militia Act is perpetual, a necessary
prerogative confirmed to the Crown, a Power his Lordp &
His Heirs must strictly adhere to agt all chicanery by that
House to Abrogate, 'tis a fundamental Act; these matters
are of peculiar Notice enf aff:

as to particulars; sent in a Box containg Deeds &ca trans-
mitted by a ship of Messrs Hanbury upds three weeks agoe.
in that Letr I acquainted you that Doctor Bevis then had not
given his answr relative to the proceedings of the Comissrs
& Surveyors in the run of the Boundary Lines at their last
meeting at New Castle & on the East shore, of wh the Doc-
