tion for the defence of this Province.

On a motion made that whereas a land record Book dis-
tinguished by the name of Lib: L: M: 1656 and 1657 was
burnt when the Stadt house was burnt in the year 1704 out of
which book there is a short extract Extant, It is ordered that
Thos Macnemara the Clerk of this house treat and make a
reasonable agreement about a Copy of the Extract of the said
book and procure the same agt the next Sessions at which
time the Agreement to be made by the Clerk shall be per-
formed, and the Clerks trouble and charge Considered.
Col Thomas Addison from the Upper house delivers Mr
Speaker Mr Philemon Hemsley's Petition thus Endorsed (Viz)

By his Exncy the Governour and Upr house of Assembly
July 21st 1716.

This petition being thought reasonable is recomended to the
lower house to Consider the petitioners case who adventured
his Vessell abroad to Import Rum and Sugar
Signed p order W Bladen Cl Upr house.

Which being read together with the several papers there-
with Sent it is Referred to the Consideration of the Comittee
of Aggrievances before whom the petitioner is to make appear
the truth of his allegations and particularly shew the Rum
Imported into the said Province was the same Rum as was
put on Board the said Sloope in the Petition mentioned and
the said Comittee to make their Report to this house with all
Convenient Speed.
Likewise at the same time Col Thomas Addison from the
Upper house delivers Mr Speaker the Petition of Grace
Brooke and Thomas Brook thus Endorsed Viz.

By the Upper house of Assembly
July 23d 1716.

This petition is Recomended to the Lower house and that
upon due proof made of the allegations therein they will
admitt a Bill to be brought in for Wm Grey's releife
Signed p order W Bladen Cl Upr House.

Which being read it is ordered that Sumons be Issued
requireing Charles Brook the heir at Law of Robt Brook
