Sent to the Upper house by Capt Mariate Mr Dashield &
Mr Branock
They return and say they delivered the message.
Col Mackall from the Committee of Elections &c: Delivered
Mr Speaker the following report made on the petition of Kent
County Inhabitants Complaning of an undue Election referred
to them yesterday which was read & approved of and ordered
to be entred.

By the Comittee of Elections and priveledges
July 19th 1716.

Upon reading the within petition and haveing heard the
allegations of Some of the petitioners in relation to the
premisses within sett forth & upon due Examination made in
the writ of Election and Indentures for the within County wee
find the several Delegates in the said Indentures mentioned
(To witt) Capt St Ledger Codd Majr James Harris Coll Edward
Scott & Col Nathaniel Hynson to be duely Elected according
to law the Election of the said Delegates being made by the
Sherriff according to the tenor of the said writ of Election to
him directed Signed p order John Beale Cl Comce

The following message being read was approved of and
resolved to be entred as follows.

By the lower house of Assembly
July 19th 1716

May It please your Exncy and Honrs
That part of his Exncy! Speech relateing to the laws to run
in the Style used when the Lord Proprys noble Ancestors had
the Government of this Province being considered, The Bet-
ter to understand our duty therein and that no mistakes may
happen in the manner and method of Complying with what
his Exncy recommends to us in that particular wee pray a Con-
ferrence with some of the honble members of the Upper house
upon that Subject & that your Exncy and Honre will please to
appoint the time and place.
