The Petition of diverse Merchants & Traders against Or-
dinary Keepers entertaining Sailors Read & recommended to
the consideration of the House of Delegates.
The Petition of William & Mary Parish read and ordered
to lye on the Table nothing being as yet offered in relation to
that Parish
Mr John Eggerton of St Mary's County his Petition read
& rejected
The Petition of Benjamin Woodward & Mary his Wife read.
And forasmuch as the Board are Sensible the Lord Prop:rys
Right of Soil is concerned therein & that he hath no Agent
at present in the Country to be heard thereto according to
former order
The said Petition is referred to the Consideration of the
next Session of Assembly
The Petition of Mr Moses Adney Cryer of the Provincial
Court read & referred until the Law for Officers Fees is
revived
Several Baltimore County Petitions Viz Mr Dutton Lanes
Mr John Dorsey's Mr John Stokes's & Mr James Richardsons
for the Sherriff Office being read Ordered a Commission be
prepared constituting Mr John Dorsey Sherriff of Baltimore
County with Posse Comitatus & Supersedeas
The Message from the House by Mr James Lloyd and six
others being taken into Consideration and the Board observing
the unhandsome Expression therein both as to their Duty &
Sincerity

Resolved that the following Answer be sent thereto

November the 4th 1712

In answer to your Message by Mr James Lloyd & six other
of your members wherein you express your Surprize to find
the Bill proposed for reviving the Act relieving the Inhabitants
from some Aggrievances returned with such Endorsemt thereon
from this Board, We must affirm that upon the most deliber-
ate Consideration we are induced to believe the sd Law is
not Enacted by a Sufficient Authority & therefore It would be
altogether in Vain to offer at the reviving thereof
Altho your good opinion of our Sincere Intentions for the
