field and Mr Jowles are to pay the same to such of the said

Committee of Aggrievances enter the House and deliver Mr
Speaker the following with their Indorsment thereon.
To the Honble Committee of Aggrievances
The humble Petition of Several poor People in the
Province of Maryland humbly complaining,
Sheweth
That contrary to an Act of Assembly made the last Session
for relieving Some Aggrievances the Attorneys and Practi-
tioners in the Provincial Court continue to implead her Maj-
esty's Subjects there for very small Sums and to arrest
Persons out of the County where they live and during the
continuing and sitting of the Provincial Court being induced
thereto (as your Petitioners believe) by the Favour as they
expect from such Persons as are in the said Courts, as well
judicial as Ministerial Officers which your Petitioners conceive
is a great Aggrievance and Oppression to her Majesty's poor
Subjects who groan under the Burthen of Debt and Oppres-
sion of merciless Creditors and avaricious Attorneys and
other Officers, and they humbly pray your Honours to repre-
sent it as an Aggrievance to the Honble House of Delegates
and humbly beg their Honours will find some Expedient to
prevent the like for the future either by inhibiting any Person
that receives any Profits in the Courts to be a Judge there
and oblige the said Courts Ex Officio to abate all Process and
Proceedings there brought or to be brought against the Intent
of the same
And they will pray.
On the Back of the said Petition is indorsed
By the Committee of Aggrievances
October 30th 1711.
We having read and considered the within Petition do
believe it to be an Aggrievance and do therefore refer the
Consideration to the House for the said Petitioners Relief as
within prayed.
Signed p Order John Beale Cl. Com.
