Ordered that this Message lye upon the Table

The Board adjourned till half an hour after three of the
Clock in the Afternoon

Post Meridiem
The Council in Assembly Sate Present as in the morning
And the Petition of Philemon Lloyd Esqr Deputy Secretary

of this Province Charles Carrol Esqr Attorny in fact for divers

Merchants and others in Great Brittain Amos Garrett Mercht
Thomas Macnemara Wornell Hunt & Thos Bordley Practi-
tioners of the Law in this Province being read at the Board
praying to be heard against the Bill for relieving the Inhabi-
tants of this Province from some Aggrievances in the prose-
cutions of Suits at Law
Ordered thereupon that the Petitioners be heard to the said
Bill to morrow morning at nine of the Clock.
The Council Adjourned till nine of the Clock to morrow
morning

The Petitioners against the Bill for Easmt of the Inhabitants
in the Prosecution of Suits at Law being heard, And first Mr
Charles Carrol urged that the Scope of the Bill infringed the
Prerogative in Limitting the Jurisdiction of the Provincial
Court
That It takes from the power Majesty has granted to his
Excellency the Governour to Erect Courts here
That the Inconveniencies in applying to the County Courts
for Justice are very great & many
First there is a great Gap for partiality in admitting Causes
to be tryed in the County Courts amongst the Debtors Rela-
tions and Friends
That the Attornys practising in the County Courts are not
