The Upper House. 361

cellency was pleased to ask the Council if they apprehended
anything therein prejudicial to any of her Majesty's Subjects
in Great Brittain
They say they cannot conceive that any thing therein can
be of Prejudice to any of her Majesty's Subjects in Great
Brittain. But that there seems to be a great Inconveniency
in the sd Law as It now stands. For that if the Creditor has
his Debtor's Obligation for two hundred & fifty pounds, & all
is paid but a Sum under twenty pounds Now by the Words
of this Law the Plaintiff if he sues in the Provincial Court
will be non Suit the just debt being under twenty pounds in
mony, & so in Tobo and if he sues in the County Court which
have not Jurisdiction above £100 Sterl or 30000l tobo It
will not take Cognizance thereof so that the Creditor therein
is wholly without remedy
Wherefore the Question was put whither the reviving Bill
should pass or that the Act should be revised with a proper
Clause added to Supply the afd Defect in Justice

U. H. J.

Wherefore It was recommended to the Delegates to revise
the sd Law and add a Supplementary Clause and the Bill
being so Endorsed was sent to the House by Lt Col Young
& Lt Col Addison
Then was read at the Board Viz
