The House according to Adjournment met and called over

Read what was done yesterday
Ordered and Resolved the following Message in Answer
to yesterday's Message be sent to the Council
By the House of Delegates
9br 12th 1713
We are truly sensible of the great Regard your Honours
have for the Reputation of this House which we Daily with
the utmost Precaution endeavour to preserve from any just
Reflection. We hope the worst of Enemies cannot justly
charge us with any Neglect of that Nature. The Law relating
to the ffines on Ordinary Licenses you was pleased yesterday
to favour us with, altho' it was perpetual yet we find that Law
and all others were repealed in Anno 1698 and if that Law
had been lodged in the proper Office where it ought to have
been we should have taken Notice of it before, but both the
Records of Assemblies and other Records are now so squan-
dered about in Holes and Bye-Places that it's almost im-
possible to find those we want. We shall take Care not to
offer any Thing to her Sacred Majesty but what we can aver
to be true not doubting but out of her usual Clemency and
Goodness she will (when our Address is laid before her) do
us all the Justice that we do expect or can reasonably desire
Signed p Order Evan Jones D. Cl. Ho. Del.
Sent p Colo Hoskins, Colo Blay, Major Sprigg and Major
Woolford.
They return and say they delivered their Message.
The Committee appointed to inspect the Records report to
this House That they examined the Records in the several
Offices and find several of the Books wanting Some should
be transcribed and a great many want to be repaired and
amended. All which they refer to the Consideration of this
House
