The Lower House. 311


Indian Grain & Meals, Horses, Mares, Colts or Filleys from
Pensylvania will expire at the End of this Session do recom-
mend to the Delegates that the said Law be revived having
been experienced to be a beneficial One and may still be so,
especially now the Trade for Grain in this Province is begin-
ning to flourish by sundry Vessels built in the Country
capable of exporting great Quantities as well as divers Vessels
on Purchase from the Northern Plantations and that it may be
of Prejudice to the ffarmers here to have the Pensylvanians
import their Grain and pick up the ready Money and Bills of
Exchange by which and other like Practices they have hereto-
fore suck'd the very Marrow of the Province. However we
think it necessary to insert a Clause in the reviving Bill to
give Liberty to any the Commanders of her Majesty's Ships
of War in this Province to purchase Bread, Flour or other
Provisions for the Use of her Majesty's Ships only and
import it or cause it to be imported from Pensylvania or else-
where Any Thing in the aforesaid Law to the Contrary not-
withstanding.

be referred till to Morrow Morning.

The House adjourns till to Morrow Morning Nine O'Clock

Wednesday Nov. 11th 1713

The House according to Adjournment met and called over
were present as yesterday.
Mr Richard Dallam Clerk of this House being very sick
had Leave to go Home Therefore Ordered That Mr Tyler and
Mr Mariartee attend Mr Evan Jones to the Council to see him
sworn and qualified to be Deputy Clerk of this House.
They return and say they saw him qualified.
Read what was done yesterday.
Yesterday's Message by Colo Holland and three more of
the Honble Council, Read, debated and Resolved the follow-
ing Message be sent in Answer thereto.

By the House of Delegates
Nov. 11th 1713

We have considered maturely of yesterday's Message by
the Honble Colo Holland and three others of your Honble
Board and do assure your Honours we never had the least
Thoughts of reflecting on your Honble Board neither have we
