the Province (had you agreed to give us a Conferrence on the
subject Matter of inforcing her Majesty's Commands relating
to the ffines of Ordinary Licenses) have easily convinced you
that the Address you propose to her Majesty and sent to us
for Perusal has very little or no weight in it and that you have
therein through a Mistake averred that which is utterly untrue
and particularly in that Part thereof wherein we apprehend
you fix the Basis of your Refusal to comply with her Majesty's
Royal Commands. We could do no less than represent this to
you and let the Consequences of this Affair be never so de-
structive to the Interest of this poor Province it will lye at your
Door if you refuse the Warning given you and we shall clearly
be acquitted therefrom. We know not of any Thing we have
to offer but what we think very material and shall be as care-
ful as any of your House how we encrease the Country's
Charge by any Delays which you cannot charge us with unless
you believe the enforcing her Majesty's Commands (wherein
it does not become your House to direct us) is trifling. When
the Journals of this Session are perused by the Right Honble
the Lords of Trade and Plantations if any Delays have hap-
pened yours may satisfy such impartial Judges where they
have been
