The Lower House. 293

land Mr Speaker attended by the whole House repaired to
Church and after divine Service and Sermon ended the House
met according to Adjournment
Called over and present as yesterday. Read what was done
Yesterday

The Message ordered to be prepared yesterday in Answer
to the Council's Message relating to Itinerant Justices, Read
and approved and ordered to be entered as follows.

By the House of Delegates
5th November 1713

We have considered and debated your Message yesterday,
by the Honble Colo Ennalls, Colo Greenberry and John Hall
Esq. relating to paying the late Itinerant Judges the Sub-
stance whereof we find several Times recommended to former
Assemblies and as oft denied any Allowance that Constitution
being made without the Consent of this House who always
saw the ill conveniency thereof and tho' you are pleased to
say the Charge of the Provincial Court was considerably
lessened thereby yet we are certain the Charges brought in
and demanded from the Public were much augmented. What
Trouble and Expences those Gentlemen were at on Occasion
of riding the Circuits or what Damages they may suffer in
their Estates thereby this House were never the Occasion of;
and as they never, on Behalf of the Public requested or
acquiesced in any Thing relating to those Commissions for the
Assizes but always shewed their Aversion thereto, so they
think it very unreasonable the Country should be burthened
with the Charge but that those that set them to work ought to
pay them for their Charges, Trouble & Expences.
Signed p Order R. Dallam Cl. Ho. Del.

Sent up to the Council with the Message prepared yester-
day about the Treasurers by Colo Hoskins, Major Sprigg, Mr
Scott, and Mr Charles Wright

Ingrossed Bill for killing Wolves, Crows and Squirrels.

5th Novr 1713
