Tilghman
The message by Mr Tyler and seven other Delegates being
considered Resolved that the following answer be sent there-
to Viz.
By the Council in Assembly
November the 1 4th 1713

Out of the due Regard we owe to her Majesty and a true
sense we have of the Interest of the province we have by
many Messages Endeavoured to perswade your House to
comply with her Majesty's Commands And these we affirm
to be the only true motives that have induced us to be so
very importunate with you this Session and multiply so many
messages, And must deny the same were used to gratify any
one or delay the finishing the Session which we look upon as
an unworthy Reflection and base Imputation thrown on this
Board and which we cannot but highly resent. As to any
reflections you may bestow upon us when you come to your
Several Countys in vindicating your own Reputations We are
above the Consideration thereof well knowing if you shall

throw any aspersions upon us They will be altogether unjust
and groundless. And whereas several of you are Justices in
your respective Countys, we must warn you as there is now
no Law in force in this Province relating to ordinarys you had
best take Care how you put any the Laws of the Kingdom of
Great Brittain relating to Ale House Keepers & Victuallers
in force & practice unless you are well Satisfyed you are
Sufficiently impowered so to do

Sent to the House by Mr Hall & Col Addison Proposed,
Advised, & Resolved that Mr Jno Broome who has been very
handsomely recommended to the honble President by the
Justices of Calvert County for the Sherriffs Office in that
County succeed Capt John Smith therein.

Mr James Lloyd and Mr Mariartee brought up from their
House Viz

November the i4th 1713

In answer to your message of this Day by John Hall Esqr
We desire the Honourable President will cause the Laws
made this Session of Assembly to be transcribed on good
paper the parchment which the Country sent for not being
yet Arrived And what parchment is to be bought in the Coun-
try is at an unreasonable rate & not fitt for use
