Ordered that It be represented to the House of Delegates
to consider & make them some recompense for such their
extraordinary Service & Trouble

We cannot but recommend to your Consideration the ser-
vices of the honble Col Wm Holland Col Thomas Smith the
late Kenelm Cheseldyne Esqr & and other Gent that were
appointed by the late Governeur to ride the Circuits & Act
as Judges of the Assizes
The said Gentlemen we are Satisfyed were at great expences
& Trouble on that occasion and could not deny the Com-
mands of the Government then imposed upon them & which
were in pursuance to her Majesty's directions to the Governour
We desire you will consider the Hardships they lye under,
not having dared to deny the execution of those Commissions,
and since the Charge of the Provincial Court was considerably
lessened thereby; not Suffer private Gentlemen & their Estates
to be damnifyed in the publick Service but make them reas-
onable Compensation for their Trouble and Expences
