The Council Sate Present as yesterday
And Lt Col Matt. Tilghman Ward & three more brought
from the House the afd Report of the Conference about the
method of establishing an Agent Assented and agreed to by
the House of Delegates which was also assented to by this
Board & returned to the House by Samuel Young Esqr &
Col Tilghman

Mr Colegate and three others brought up Viz

We return your Honours all dutifull acknowledgements of
your Care in sending such Worthy persons to the Northern
and Nanticoke Indians on the Emperour of the Nanticokes
leaving his People and highly approve your Honours Conduct
therein and hope that you will on all occasions continue your
usual Care in such matters. We have given Orders to the
Committee of Accounts to make those Gentlemen & Others
by them employed such Allowances as We hope & Expect
will be to their Satisfaction

The Petition of John Smith of Cecil County read & referred
to the Consideration of the House of Delegates
Mr Macall & Mr Broome came with Mr Rousby Naval
Officer of Patuxent to see him sworn to the Accompts of his
Collection this year which he did in their presence
The said Mr Rousby as Receiver of Patuxent district also
made oath to his Accompts of the 3d p hhd and 9d p hhd
collected this present year
Mr Amos Garrett and three more brought up a Supple-
mentary Bill to the Act for the better administration of Justice
in probat of Wills &c
A Bill permitting the Inhabitants of this Province to issue
out Writts in their own proper Persons &c.
And a Bill to restrain the ill practice used by Sherriffs &c.
Ordered the said Bill be read now & lye upon the Table to
be considered on Monday next

Lt Col Hammond & Capt Colegate brought from the
House Viz

Col James Maxwell the Undertaker for building of Balti-
more County Court House pursuant to the Ordinance made
