The Lower House. 161

travel and gather together in Companies to the Terror of the
good People of this Province and if not prevented will be of
great Abuse to the Country
Resolved it be referred to the Consideration of the next
Session of Assembly.
It is further offered by this Committee as an Aggrievance
that the Act for superseding Executions as it now stands since
the Alteration of the Commission of the Justices of the Provin-
cial Court doth not answer the End and Intent of the Makers
thereof for that no Person against whom a Judgment is
rendered in the Provincial Court can now have any Bene-
fit of that Act without going before a Justice of that Court,
Whereas at the Time of making the said Act there was a
Justice of the Provincial Court in each County, but now there
is not, and this Committee humbly propose that if the Presi-
dent or two of the Justices of the County Court were impow-
ered to grant a Supersedeas after the tenth of May on any
Execution issued on a Judgment rendered in the Provincial
Court it would remedy the said Aggrievance
Resolved a Bill be brought in this Session to remedy the
said Aggrievance according to the Report of the Committee.

they are now paid to his Lordship and that the twelve Pence
p Hhd on Tobacco be settled on them as it now is paid him
as an Equivalent for the Rents.
