Speaker where being admitted the said Mr Tyler in a decent
and humble Manner excused himself to the Honble President
and desired his Honour to command the House to elect some
other Person in his Room which his Honour would not grant
Then the said Mr Tyler desired the Honble President that
the House might have Leave to return to their own House
and there further consider of some more capable Person for
their Speaker insisting on his own Incapacity. Upon which
his Honr at the earnest Desire of the said Mr Tyler granted
The Members being returned to their own House Mr Tyler
thanked them for their good Opinion of him and that the
Honble President at his Request had given them Leave to
consider further of their Speaker and earnestly desired them to
be excused recommending Mr Robert Ungle a Member re-
turned for Talbot County as a more capable Person
Several Members of her Majesty's Honble Council enter
the House and their Clerk there read her Majesty's Writ of
Prorogation in these Words Viz.

Queen Defender of the ffaith To our Trusty and well beloved
our Councillors and the Delegates and Burgesses elected to
serve in our General Assembly of this our Province of Mary-
land to be convened as on this Day Greeting Know Ye That
we have thought fit and do hereby prorogue the said General
Assembly until Wednesday the twenty ninth Instant At which
Time we will you to convene yourselves together at the City
of Annapolis in Order to consult, debate, advise and consent
to such Things as by the flavour of Almighty God shall then
and there happen to be ordained and Enacted to the Glory of
God, Her Majesty's Honour and the Welfare of this Province
Witness myself at the City of Annapolis this twenty Eighth
Day of October in the Eleventh year of our Reign &ta Annoq
